This post should be about my new design – pattern made for TutorialGirl Shop. The design itself is fabulous simple and funky and the perfect thing for small kid. I love it, maybe it will be better if I admit that I adore it. It is easy to sew but the most important it is something that is perfect for kindergarten, or for playing outside or for visiting a friend. They are super comfortable, with big pockets at front (most important for small kid).
I don’t know how many pants like that I already made for my kid. First I made them without the skirt, and then I just get the idea what if I made them also with hoody. You know all the things that kids love to have for their cloths: be comfortable, something that mom won’t yell on you to stop; there is a mud, something with big pockets for your teddy bear….
But this pattern is not just pattern with one pants piece, no, no, no. On this pattern you have option of having skirt on, and the instructions are also made for the model without skirt, so suitable for boys also. The hoody is optional too, but who don’t want to try the challenge with sewing hoody on your pants. OK, I admit, usually pants don’t have hoody on them, but this is so much fun.
One more confession; I was enjoying in this pattern making and sewing so much that it is almost impossible to describe. I like to recycle lately, and for brown pants I used my old to big sweater with hoody, for the blue one I used not big enough fabric pieces…so perfect project in many ways. My biggest playing was not the recycling but the playing with color and some freehand stitching and stamping the fabric pattern…so enjoyable. I did explain one part of that in my previous post. This experience is so fun, that I think this year summer t-shirts won’t stay plain and just with a lot colors, but they will be also like a stamping playground. It will be the best stamping playing with my kid. Jep, you could do this with your 2 years old kid, you just need a little bit of preparation, because you need to be fast at this. I think more stamping project will be here soon, because we have a lot fabric to recycle.
Kids clothing must be colorful and super fun, and if they could help with them, even better. I don’t know what could my kid remember from her childhood, but I wish to make great memories and experience form it. She will be to fast in school and to fast in front the computer all the time, so now it is time to enjoy and to play, even with clothes. Why not?
PS, if there will be too much pictures, I can’t help myself to show all the details, because I really enjoy in this. I wish everybody to have some experience with this. It is like you are aloud to be in your sandpit.
