I finally have a few hours off playing with acrylic fabric and a little bit of stamping with my big stamps. I did work this for a Prayer Flag Swap and at first I want to make more photos with step by step or more of the process (I did plan to show some of my work in details). But let face it, it is not a science fiction and it is just playing with fabric and color.
I also made the most lately at night so the photos wouldn’t be good anyway. But I did, as always enjoying doing it and yes I also did learn new stuff about the process (more playing more experience). This is so nice process that you need to try and I will do it next time together with my kid, I also want to do it now, but I have a deadline to catch, so I play alone. Not so fun, as if you play with a kid, but it is still nice.
I did made two photos of the first step, the cutting and a first layer of free motion sewing, the rest is just putting more color and repeat the first step, I actually did plan to include also my linoleum stamps, but they are big, maybe to big for the flags, and I didn’t have enough time to do it as I want to do. Maybe they would be better, or maybe they would be too much of everything. Don’t know, now.
I won’t say a lot about it, just one more thing. When I made pictures of it, and when I did sleep one night and then I look at them the next day, I did get idea, that:
1. I need to make this for my kids with alphabet and maybe handmade illustrations
2. We need flags for kids’ bedrooms
3. and 4. I need to think about how to make this or. how to use the technique on a bigger and smaller scale. Why? Because I think this is something that I need to develop on the second level. Like a wall tapestry or jewelry; after all it is so much fun I want to play more, again and again.
Now my flags are shipped over sea on a places I can’t go and I wish I could,…what did you play in this week?
Why is sewing so fun that you couldn’t stop it?
